Summer wedding season is here. Once you’ve booked your flight and purchased the gift, you then have to figure out what to wear. My advice: opt for something bright and cheery. Weddings are meant to be happy occasions, so your outfit should be, too. For summer nuptials, I steer clear of anything too heavy – i.e. black. (I guess that means I’ll be saving this newbie until fall.) Instead, I go for something with color. This punchy-orange Alexis dress is a great choice. The lace adds a romantic detail which is perfect for the occasion. For something a little less pricey, check out this one and this one. They both ring in at under $150. I also really love a pretty pastel. This dress is divine and would work for black-tie or cocktail.
Once you’ve figured out the dress, the next most important detail is comfortable shoes. Between the ceremony and the cocktail hour and the dance floor, there’s a lot of standing up. Comfort is key. These heels from Stuart Weitzman have become my go-to wedding shoe. The block heel not only makes them perfect for outdoor weddings, but lets me log hours on the dance floor. For something just a little dressier, I love either this pair or this pair (under $100!). They’re both a go-with-everything nude.
