KREWE DU OPTIC Sunglasses // ROSANTICA Earrings (similar here) // TOTÊME Tunic // SAINT LAURENT Bag // K. JACQUES Sandals

Elin Kling has long been on my short list of personal style icons. The Swedish blogger-turned-designer has a style that is the epitome of effortless-cool, and her looks always seem to strike the perfect balance between casual and sophisticated. Kling has a knack for making even the most basic of items (a stripe tee, a denim jacket) look fresh and interesting. Sounds like someone you’d wish would come on over and dress you for the day, right? Well, Totême is the next best thing. It’s the super chic and perfectly-edited clothing line Kling co-designs with her husband Karl Lindman. The collection is a smart, elevated take on everyday basics like classic poplin shirts, linen shorts, and those wear-forever black dresses. They’re what I think of as the building blocks of a good wardrobe – the kinds of things that are totally timeless and take you from the office to happy hour with ease. This tunic proved as much, too. Last week, I paired it with these block heels for a work meeting and this week, I’m thinking about taking it with me to the beach to wear with these happy sandals and a straw bag. Don’t you just love pieces that work double-duty like that?
