I kind of can’t believe it but it’s actually starting to feel like fall outside. This kind of cooler weather doesn’t usually happen around here until Halloween so last week’s cold front was a welcome surprise. It’s certainly not coat-wearing weather (if it was then I’d be wearing this) but there’s a crispness in the air that’s giving me all the fall feels.
This little change has me in full-on transition mode. I did a major closet clean-out over the weekend. I rearranged it so that all my fall favorites (like this cozy thing!) are now up front and I moved a lot of my summer things into storage. But there were some warm-weather items that got to stay put though, including this tiered top from MDS Stripes. Ever since I picked it up in July, it’s become one of my very favorites – not to mention, one of the most-worn tops in my closet. It’s just one of those pieces that’s so classic that you can pretty much make it work year-round. It’s the definition of easy – simple, but chic and goes with everything. It’s also slightly cropped, making it the ideal top to pair with all of my high-waisted jeans (these, these, and these). And the ruffles. They make this top a not-so-basic basic. You know what I mean? And besides, who can resist a good ruffle?
