THE COLOR THAT’S TAKING OVER MY FALL WARDROBE

Today marks the first official Monday of fall. (It’s hard to believe that we’re less than a week away from October, isn’t it?) I spent Saturday afternoon prepping my closet for the new season – moving bikinis and coverups into storage and replacing them with cozy sweaters, jackets (this is the perfect light-weight coat), and other fall favorites. While I’ll admit that a large chunk of my closet becomes a sea of gray, navy blue (I just bought this and love it),  and, of course, lots of black, during the fall/winter season, there is still quite an abundance of color that remains. I’ve never been one to shy away from color – no matter what season it is.

One hue that I’m particularly drawn to right now is this bright tomato-red. It’s the perfect happy medium between orange and red that really pops. This is really the only shade of red that I wear. (Side note: Same goes for nail color. Chanel’sEspadrilles is pretty much the only polish I use.)  It’s a color that works year-round, but I think it looks especially fresh this time of year. It’s unexpected, and I love the way it complements blue tones – from navy (think: this + these) and cobalt to lighter shades like sky blue. It also makes for a surprisingly pretty pairing with hot pink. (This might sound crazy to some but trust me: it works. Just look at LSD for inspiration.)  All that’s to say that I’m adding it to my wardrobe in a big way this season – starting with this chunky knit and my new crossbody bag from JW Anderson.  I’m also eyeing this on-sale Stella blazer, this one-shoulder top, this Topshop coat, and this oh-so-fab ruffle dress from Solace. What color are you embracing for fall?
