At this point, I’ve managed to cross off the majority of the people on my gift list. (Saved a few last-minute buys for today because J.Crew is offering 40% off any order. Check!) However, there’s a still few stragglers (read: so. many. cousins.) on my list for which I have yet to find the perfect present. This happens every year around this time and when it does, I resort to one tried-and-true strategy: when in doubt, buy a book. Whether you’re gift-hunting for your wannabe-chef uncle or your fashion-obsessed friend, you can find a great book that will suit nearly every single person on your list. Bonus: thanks to Prime, you can get it here in no less than 48 hours. All hail Amazon.
2017 was a particularly good year for books, making it even easier to select a gift-worthy title. Here, three tomes that I’ll be giving out to my nearest and dearest (and hardest-to-please!) this year, along with a shoppable list with 10 other personal favorites.
Not exactly the coffee table tome you’d expect from fashion’s favorite magazine, right? When food appears in Vogue, it’s given the exact same treatment as fashion editorials – and this book is proof. It’s a great gift for your chicest foodie friend.
Have any dog-parent friends? This book is for them. This book features 22 A-list interior designers and their pooches. Not only does the book offer a peek inside the glamorous homes of the designers, but there’s also inspirational tips and tricks (doggie gate ideas, the best pet-friendly fabrics) for how the designers live with their dogs. This one is a gem.
There’s a million wonderful cookbooks worthy of a gift but this year, this is the one I’ll be giving to my favorite foodies. San Francisco’s State Bird Provisions is one of my tip-top favorite restaurants in the world. The experience of dining there is fantastic and the food is so, so delicious. This book offers the recipes for the restaurants most-loved recipes. Count me in.
