One of my favorite trends that’s emerged over the last year is embroidery. While I’ve never been one who’s quick to jump on board with a single trend, this is one I can totally get behind. I think it all started when editors (Anna Dello Russo, I’m looking at you) were spotted wearing those fab dresses from Ukranian designer Vita Kin – and now, it’s everywhere!
Along with my forever favorites from Mi Golondrina, I’ve managed to accumulate a slew of embroidered things in my closet lately. For starters, there’s the blouses. I’ve worn this one non-stop and I love my new one from Ulla Johnson. But my favorite of the lot has to be this one (on sale!) from Talitha. I’ve worn this top countless times – so much so that I’m considering buying the dress now, too.
Then there’s the accessories, too. I love my new bag from Antonello (handwoven in Italy and surprisingly versatile) and my ever-growing collection of Les Bonbons earrings. Each pair is hand embroidered in India! It’s the handmade nature of all of these things that I really appreciate. It’s what makes them so delicate and extra special.
