The month of May has always one that is full of celebrations in this house. It kicks off with my birthday followed by Mother’s Day and, later this week, our anniversary. Not to mention, all of the weddings, graduations, and showers (bridal and baby!) that are filling up my Saturdays and Sundays this month. May, much like December, is a busy one.
These kinds of festivities call for a wardrobe of easy (but festive!) dresses that I can throw on and go. The kinds of dresses that don’t require a lot of thought, but rather just need to be finished off with a bold accessory like a pair of statement earrings (these or these) or a bright bag. This Isabel Marant dress was a perfect choice for last Friday evening. It’s made of cotton so it’s light and airy (perfect for the warm days ahead!), and the one-shoulder ruffle adds a festive touch. The best part is that easily transitioned from a casual cocktail hour on the patio to a date night that included dinner al fresco.
As summer quickly approaches, I’d like to load up on more of these kinds of easy dresses. I have a long list of favorites, including: this floral one from Rhode Resort (already hanging in my closet), either of these eyelet options here or here, this one-shoulder number from LoveShackFancy, one of LMR’s ricrack-trim options, along with a couple of off-the-shoulder goodies like this one, this one, and this one. Looking for something under $100? See here, here, and here.
