Now that it’s (un)officially summer, I thought I’d share one of my favorite buys for the season: this skirt.
Here’s my deal with skirts: I don’t have a lot of them. If you peeked in my closet, you’d find that it’s largely made up of a combination of dresses (including this lace number that just arrived on my doorstep), various tops, and denim. But skirts? Not so much. My skirt purchases tend to be few and far between so when I do buy one, it means that I must really love it. And I really, really love this one.
It’s my perfect summer skirt – simple, but chic and it has pockets! Plus: it has a Brigitte-Bardot-French-Riviera (see?) vibe that I love. The problem I usually have with skirts is that they require work. Figuring out the right pairings takes time and sometimes I just don’t have it. However, that’s not the case with this skirt. I’ve worn it with everything from t-shirts (love the way it looks with a simple white tee) to tailored button-downs to off-the-shoulder styles. I even threw it on over this one-piece for lunch by the pool last weekend. A summer favorite already! I think it’s safe to say that I’m going to get plenty of wear out of this one.
P.S. Be sure to head over to Net-a-Porter today. They kicked off their big summer sale this morning – and it’s not to be missed! 50% off all your favorite summer buys – including Marysia swimsuits! Run. Don’t walk.
