I am more than ready for the fall weather to arrive (hurry up already). September is halfway over and we’re still dealing with 95 degree temperatures. (The weatherman is talking about some cold front that’s going to come through on Friday, and I’m seriously crossing my fingers that it’s an actual cold front. You know one that brings the temperatures down more than two degrees. Wishful thinking?)
While I await the cooler weather, it’s been a little bit of a task trying to figure out what to wear. I’m tired of wearing shorts and my even my most favorite summer dresses (this one) are starting to look a little weary. In order to survive the heat – but not look like I’m still living in summer clothes – I’ve been relying on my most simple basics. My favorite t-shirts (a black one, a striped one, and this white one) have been on full rotation for the last two weeks. A good tee makes for a perfect foundation. Those tees go with anything, so I’ve been pairing them with denim, my new leather mini, and cropped trousers. Wardrobe basics like that are seasonless. They’ll work anytime of the year which makes them ideal transition pieces.
