Calling all brides-to-be! You’ve selected you’re something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue – but what about the shoe? This is the kind of detail that often gets forgotten or put off until the last minute. Even if the dress is long enough to cover your shoes making your eyes the only ones that will ever see what’s on your feet, it’s a detail that’s important to the big day. Plus: it’s an opportunity for you to really individualize your look, to make it unique and extra-special. The shoes are where you can have really have some fun.
When it came to my own wedding shoes, I knew exactly what I wanted: a Manolo Blahnik white suede pump. (It doesn’t get much more classic than that.) Since I ended up changing into a short, party dress for the reception, I had an opportunity for something fun there. I ended up with a jeweled strappy sandal (though I totally would have worn these if they had existed at the time). On a side note: I still wear both pairs – especially the white Manolos – all the time.
The thing about wedding shoes is that there are so many different directions one can go. Heel or flat? Something sparkly? Pure white or something in a hue? (This shoe offers all of the above. Not to mention, it’s comfortable and would totally work for “something blue.”) I love Jimmy Choo’s “Lang” heel. It comes in so many different options – metallic, white, or even a color. If you’re after a budget-buy, this is an option for under $50. On that same note: The Outnet is a budget-bride’s best friend. Like I said: plenty of options. Whether you’re a beach bride looking for a glam sandal to strut on the sand or a classic bride who’s after a creamy-white pump or something in between, there’s a shoe that will suit your style.
