At the start of summer, I read this article in the WSJ. Shortly after, I purchased these jeans. The article talks about the new form of white jeans – specifically how they’re not quite so white and definitely not as tight. It occurred to me that practically every single pair of white jeans I own is super-bright white and skinny. (I practically live in these.) That’s when I hit the web on a search for something different and ended up with this pair from Citizens of Humanity.
In the past, I’ve always steered clear of the off-white shades because I was worried they would look faded or appear yellow-ish. But this pair has totally changed my mind. Not only are they the perfect shade of ivory (creamy, not yellow!), but the relaxed fit makes them ridiculously comfortable and so easy to wear. The best part is that these jeans aren’t just made for summer. The creamy shade is one that works year-round. In fact, I just added this ivory crop-flare (obsessed!) style to my closet and I plan on wearing them all fall and winter long. I love the idea of pairing them with off-white and beige layers (think: this coat, this sweater, and these flats). That’s right: white jeans after Labor Day. If you’re denim drawer needs a refresh for the new season, consider something cream!
