Along with my favorite pair of espadrilles and the perfect one-piece, a big stack of books is essential to my summer. Thanks to vacations, time spent on planes, and the lack of TV shows, I’ll have plenty of time embrace my inner-bookworm over the next few months. With so many good books (about to start this one) out right now, the only difficult thing is selecting which one to read first. That’s why I keep an ongoing list. That way when I finish a book, I can move right on to the next one and not waste anytime reading synopses and trying to find the perfect one. (Plus, it feels really productive when I look back at it at the end of summer and see all the books I’ve crossed off the list.)

From the quintessential beach reads to more serious memoirs, here’s a peek at what’s currently on my summer reading list.

  1. The Nest (Finished it. It’s a great one to take along to the beach.)
  2. Rich and Pretty
  3. Don’t You Cry
  4. It’s Okay to Laugh: (Crying is Cool, Too).
  5. Sweetbitter
  6. The Summer of Good Intentions
  7. Everybody Behaves Badly
  8. Not Working (Finished! Funny and very entertaining.)
  9. Imagine Me Gone
  10. The Status of All Things
  11. Here’s To Us
  12. A Little Life
  13. Hold Still (Finished this one last night. Beautifully written. I definitely recommend it.)
  14. Modern Lovers
  15. A Spool of Blue Thread
  16. Invincible Summer
  17. The Hopefuls
  18. The Singles Game
  19. Truly Madly Guilty

Any books you think I should add? Leave it in the comments!
