Right as we were heading into the hustle and bustle of holiday parties, I realized that while I have plenty of high heels and several pairs of fancy flats, I was in need of a great pair of in-between party heels. I’m talking about the ones you turn to when you’re just not in the mood for a higher-than-high heel but need something that’s a touch fancier than your average flats. (This pair of kitten heels from Loeffler Randall fit that bill for a long time but I’ve worn my way through those.) Just as I was starting a sole search, there they were: the most perfect pair of shiny sandals. I ordered them in silver, but they’re also available in gold and a fantastic blue hue. Between the crystals and that fab geometric heel, these heels are like little jewels! (Seriously though. Don’t they look like something straight out of a jewel box?) They added a perfectly festive finish to my holiday party looks (I wore them with everything from jeans to this dress), and they’re certainly going to be a favorite for many a spring and summer wedding.
This happened to be my first pair from Frances Valentine – a new-ish line that was started by the original Kate Spade, who is now known as Kate Valentine. (She officially changed her name. It’s a little confusing.) The collection is full of fun, feminine styles – from striped slingbacks (obsessed) to bejeweled flats. What I really love about the Frances Valentine shoes is that they’re all simple enough to be considered for everyday wear, yet each pair has its own set of special details (a geometric heel! a shiny bow!), making them totally appropriate for a cocktail party. This line is definitely one to put on your radar! I can hardly wait to see what they’re cooking up for spring.
