While some may argue that winter is a far better time to be pregnant (no triple-digit temperatures! cozy sweaters!), I personally think I lucked out in the timing department. Pregnant or not, I’ve always found summer clothes to be my favorites – white denim, tunics, and loads of breezy dresses. Bottom line: summer clothes are just easy and right now, that’s exactly what I need.
When it comes to “easy” wardrobe pieces, there’s perhaps nothing that fits the bill quite like a kaftan. It’s the ultimate one-and-done item. At this point in my pregnancy, kaftans are my shining star. Not only do they fit (yay!) but I can wear them day or night, to the pool or out to dinner. This explains why I’m scooping them up left and right (most recently: this on-sale one!) – and since they’re more of a one-size-fits-most item, I’m more comfortable splurging on them because I know I’ll be able to wear them when I’m no longer pregnant. I’ve scored several new favorites including this one from Pippa Holt. I’ve always loved her kaftans. They’re surprisingly durable (read: travel well), and I love the colorful embroidery.
Other new kaftan additions include this striped one from Three Graces, this midi from Emerson Fry, and this fab print one from D’Ascoli. Looking for a budget friendly options? Check out these from H&M.
