malachite moment

Remember these plates that I told you all about last week? Turns out I couldn’t wait on Santa. I purchased two sets over the weekend. (Hooray for leftover wedding gift cards!) I can’t wait for them to arrive. Is anyone else as crazy about malachite right now? I love it.  It’s a new thing for me, too. I really wasn’t all that in love with it before. I think it always felt a little gaudy to me or something? A little too over-the-top. That’s certainly not the case anymore. I’ve been pinning interiors (like this one) with malachite touches left and right. It really seems to liven up a room. While I obviously believe that this is a good time to keep the “too much of a good thing” rule in mind, I think touches of it (a pillow, a pair of chairs) here and there are so gorgeous.

The table is always a good place to start. Kim Seybert’s placemats, for instance. Wouldn’t they make for a perfect pairing with these chargers? Or go with simple white plates and add in gold touches elsewhere like with flatware or these shakers. Other small touches for the house include little trinket boxes (this one is really fun) or desk accessories. If we’re really going for it, then this bar cart or a pair of  these vintage end tables are the way to go. The boldest of all? Anthropologie’s wallpaper. In the right spot, it could look really amazing.
