Another spring day, another all-white look. I told you guys: when the temperatures rise, out come my brightest whites. While my white denim is certainly here to stay, this sweater will probably only be able to hang around for a month or so more. Texas summers don’t really allow for sweaters (unless you’re inside the grocery store or movie theatre here where thermostats are set to Arctic numbers during the summer). It’s been a great transitional piece, but I’ll be tucking it away in favor of other whites that are just a little lighter – things like this sleeveless top or this embroidered tunic.
Either way, I’ll be sticking with whites all summer long. They not only keep things a little cooler (a must when you live in a place where triple digit temperatures are the standard) but they allow for a blank palette which means I can mix in just about any accessory I want – including funky earrings like these or a my pineapple clutch. Since I do tend to keep my looks fairly simple in the summer, I love picking up fun extras like these. Color is key here. In terms of jewelry, I love these hot pink earrings or, for something just a little fancier, these statement drops. (This beaded necklace is a good steal.) I usually alternate between totes and clutches when it comes to my handbags this time of year. There’s some really fun ones right now, too. I mean if this watermelon clutch doesn’t just scream summer then I don’t know what does. There’s also this crab one from Kate Spade or a sunny-yellow one that I love. Light, white, and bright: that’s the name of the game this summer.
