SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED… Cashmere sweatpants. That’s right. They’re as luxurious as they sound. I snagged a pair from Everlane and have deemed them my new favorites. They’re not just for wearing around the house (though they’re perfect for that, too). They’re tailored just enough that you can totally make them work for all kinds of outings. (I paired with with a t-shirt and this blazer yesterday.) So, this basically allows me to stay in my sweatpants all day long.
READING… I haven’t gotten through quite as many books this month as I normally do. I blame my DVR for this. (If you haven’t started watching This Is Us yet, I highly recommend it!) However, there are two books I can tell you about: Girls in White Dresses and The Regulars. I enjoyed the former more than the latter. Girls in White Dresses was published several years ago and I just never got around to reading it. I’m really glad I did though because I loved it. It’s witty, funny, and very relatable. Add it to your list! The Regulars, on the other hand, was less enjoyable for me. Don’t get me wrong: it’s a good book with an interesting premise. I just found myself struggling to get through it. I didn’t love the characters. There’s one area this book does get an A+ and that’s the cover. So fab! It’s one of the prettiest covers to grace my bedside table in a long time.
MAKEUP MOOD… I don’t carry around a lot of makeup with me – mainly because I don’t really wear that much in the first place. There are, however, a few things that I’ve rarely left home without lately: Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge in “Powder Pink”, Sisley’s lip twist, and the “Bondi Beach” lip gloss from Le Metier de Beaute. Let’s talk lip twist. It’s the newest addition to my beauty bag, and I have my mom to thank for it. (Moms give the best beauty tips, don’t they?) She raved about how moisturizing they were and she was right. They feel like a moisturizing gloss going on but they deliver color like a lipstick. The best kind of combo, right? I haven’t found a color that I didn’t like but my top favorites so far are #2 and #11. (Note: the “Bondi Beach” gloss is the perfect topper to #11.)
MY FIRST TRACY ANDERSON CLASS… Tracy Anderson recently opened her first studio in Dallas. I’ve always wanted to try a TA class (and not just because Gwyneth Paltrow told me to but that definitely has something to do it with it). I finally took my first class last weekend and really loved it. The tunes are excellent, the dancing is fun, and the workout is no joke. I left drenched in sweat and totally exhausted. Is the TA “method” all its cracked up to be? Judging just from that class, absolutely. Have you tried a class from TA? Tell me what you think.
HERE COMES THE BRIDE… My wedding day may be long gone but that doesn’t mean I don’t truly enjoy looking through new bridal collections. The Fall 2017 collections were shown a little over two weeks ago and while all were beautiful, there was one collection that stopped me dead in my tracks: Viktor & Rolf’s. This is V&R’s first foray into bridal and they seriously knocked it out of the park. It was at once very modern and completely classic. From floor-sweeping gowns to a super chic jumpsuit (why don’t more brides wear pants?!) to the cutest A-line mini I ever did see, the entire collection is a breath of fresh air.
SALE SCOOP… Shopbop just keeps the steals and deals coming. Yesterday, they added all kinds of new things to their sale. I was lucky enough to snag a pair of these jeans along with a pair of these earrings in blue. (I also ordered these flats. Not on sale but still under $100!) Take a looksie for yourself. I bet you’ll find some goodies.
QUICK & HEALTHY BREAKFAST… I love smoothies but even the quickest ones aren’t always that quick. It’s all that fruit chopping! My sister recently told me about this thing called Daily Harvest. They’re basically ready-to-blend smoothies delivered to your freezer. Everything is super fresh and they use whole food ingredients. I’m placing my first order as we speak. I’ll report back.
GETTING GIFT-Y… Holiday parties are going to be here before I know it which is why I’m on the hunt (always) for some good hostess gifts/stocking stuffers. One of my favorite finds this week is this set of emoji coasters from Kim Seybert. They’re under $100 and just something fun that anyone will appreciate.
