WALLPAPER REFRESH… I’ve been wanting to wallpaper my guest bathroom for like ever and I finally did it. The finished product is even better than I could have imagined. I’ve always loved Quadrille’s Bali Isle print and was so excited to find a place to use it in my house. It’s amazing what a little wallpaper (along with a shell mirror) can do for a space, isn’t it? It has totally transformed this teeny bathroom. Don’t get me wrong: it looked really beautiful in its former all-white glory, but the wallpaper makes it just so, so much better. It reminds me of Harbour Island and that makes me happy.
BAG OBSESSION… A new season always has me yearning for a new handbag. Right now, I’m obsessed with all the interesting shapes – circles, half-moons (love this one), boxes! – that handbags are taking lately. I’ve already scooped up this cute little bucket bag (love the handles) last week, and I’ve currently got my eye on this boxy style from Building Block. And just like everyone else in the world, I’m crazy about the styles (especially this one) from Mansur Gavriel. There’s something so ladylike about their handbags. Oh! Another line to keep your eye on: Cuero & Mor. They’ve really mastered the minimalist-chic trend.
NEXT STOP: CHARLESTON… I’m so super excited about our getaway to Charleston next month. I haven’t been there in over ten years! We took a family trip there when I was in high school and I loved it so much that I actually applied to the College of Charleston. I obviously didn’t end up going there for school but that doesn’t explain why I haven’t made a point to go back for a vacation. I just remember it being one of the most charming little places. I’m currently in trip-planning mode so if you have any good Charleston recommendations, do tell!
WORTH THE SPLURGE… I know I already mentioned this here, but Chloé has totally won my heart with these ballet flats. Besides the fact that they’re super adorable and come in an array of happy hues (and a fab leopard print, too!), they’re also insanely comfortable. I mean it. They’re buttery-soft and have some sort of cushioned sole in them that makes it feel like you’re walking on air. These babies are worth the splurge.
WISE WORDS… I read this article last month and have been thinking about it ever since. The message is simple, but profound: let go of things that don’t make you happy. Full disclosure: I’m guilty of letting myself get very worked up about things I shouldn’t, and I have tendency to say yes to things I don’t actually want to do. This article has been such a good reminder for me.
GET READY TO LAUGH… I think I’m pretty late to the game on this one but I just discovered @jessronagrooming and I can’t stop laughing. This dog groomer is a genius. If you haven’t already, go check it out. I promise it will make your day better. You’re welcome.
GIFTING… How pretty is this cheese board? I saw it at Anthropologie the other day and immediately scooped one up to give as a housewarming gift. (Full disclosure: I’m probably going to go back and buy one for myself.)
ON MY DVR… Raise your hand if you’re excited about the return of your favorite TV shows. I am! Since finishing the The Night Manager and the end of Bachelor in Paradise (guilty pleasure), I’ve been ready for some new shows to start to fill up my DVR. The Voice (anyone else a fan?) has now taken over my Monday nights and then last night, I watched the premiere of This Is Us. Mandy Moore! Remember her? She’s back. Last night’s episode was really good. It sort of reminds of Parenthood. I officially added it as a series recording. What else should I be watching? Tell me, tell me.
LIQUID LIPSTICK… When it comes to beauty faves, Nars (best blush ever) is always on my list. Their newest gloss has got to be one of the best things they’ve ever done. It’s basically a liquid lipstick. It goes on like a gloss and feels like a gloss but delivers that color punch that only a lipstick can. Not to mention, it’s the perfect bright red.
