LATELY

Pregnancy has introduced me to lots of new things – some amazing, some not so much. On the list of “amazing” things are these moisturizing stones from Kate McLeod. A friend of mine sent one to me as a birthday gift and after just one try, I was hooked. It’s essentially a solid round bar (fits perfectly into the palm of your hand) that melts as you smooth it into your skin. I was originally just using it on my belly but I love it so much that I have started using it as a full-body moisturizer.

In an effort to do as my doctor says and drink more water, I pretty much never leave the house without having water on hand – or more specifically, in my bag. This Hydro Flask bottle is my new thing. It’s super easy to transport and keeps my water cool for hours (up to 24 hours!). Note: I also just discovered their food flask (genius) which I’m loving for my morning smoothie bowls on-the-go.

Finding a TV show that both my husband and I enjoy equally and will watch together is no easy feat (The Handmaid’s Tale gets a big no from him) so it’s always exciting when I do. Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, we’ve been making our way through all of the seasons of Bosch. It’s a police procedural series centered on LAPD detective Harry Bosch. There’s a lot going on so you really have to pay attention (read: no watching and looking at your iPhone at the same time) but we both really like it. It’s been a great summer show for us.

It’s official: my jeans no longer fit. (I can still squeeze into my favorite low-rise boyfriend pair but not for long!) I’ve learned that just like regular jeans, maternity jeans require lots of research before landing on the perfect pair. I’m still in the trial and error process but I have found this ankle-crop pair from Citizen to be a favorite so far. They have just the right amount of stretch and I love that they actually have a button on the front so I can still do a front-tuck with my t-shirt and such. I still have a long pregnancy to go though so I’ll need another pair. Any recommendations?

It took me until this year to discover Indie Lee and I’m so glad I did. (Lee created the skincare line after she survived a life-threatening brain tumor most likely caused by environmental toxins.) Every single product in the line is free of chemicals, synthetics, and contaminants. I’ve tried several of the products (including this serum which I swear is brightening up my dark circles!) and each one has been better than the next. So far, my favorite product is this moisturizer. It feels so soothing on my skin. (Tip: You can order this Discovery Kit if you want to try out the products before making the full commitment!)

I’m planning to do a full post on my summer reading list but here’s a quick peek: I just finished this book (really, really good!) and I’m about to start this one. What’s on your list?
