PRAYERS // The tragedy in Las Vegas is heartbreaking. It’s frightening, disturbing, and so incredibly sad. It has left me with this unsettling feeling, almost like I’m uncomfortable in my own skin. I don’t know what to say about it other than to ask everyone to keep Las Vegas in your prayers.

THANK YOU // You guys are really awesome. Thank you for all the comments and emails I received in regards to this post. Working for yourself is great, but it also means that there’s never anyone there to provide some sort of check-in when you need it. Thanks for letting me lean on you all for that. I loved all of the thoughts and suggestions. They’ve been super helpful in planning posts for the next couple of months.

DVF, IS THAT YOU? // Has anyone else noticed how good everything from DVF is looking lately? Ever since Jonathan Saunders took over as Chief Creative Officer last year, the brand has undergone a total transformation. It’s fresh, feminine, and, well, fun. (Would you have ever guessed that this dress was DVF?!) The fall collection is the best yet. I’m currently eyeing this jumpsuit, this shawl (SO good!), and this cap-sleeve dress. Oh. Also this.

FAVORITE BEAUTY BUY // Have you all heard of Dr. Barbara Sturm? She’s the doctor who I think might have just created the answer all rosacea-sufferers have been after. On the recommendation of my aesthetician, I bought the Calming Serum which is supposed to help reduce redness and inflammation. I’ve been using it for about a month and I can honestly say I’ve noticed a major difference. Within minutes of applying the milky-thin liquid, my face looks less red and any sort of irritation is minimized. This type of miracle helps justify the price tag.

WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE // I loved reading this honest letter from a 20-something. I think we can all relate to moments of feeling of being completely unsure who we are or what it is that we’re doing – no matter how old we are.

THE RETURN OF RIVERDALE // Well, this is exciting. Anyone else addicted to the teenage drama that is Riverdale? #sorrynotsorry

SHOE SHOPPING // How fabulous are the flats from Le Monde Beryl? I bought my first pair (word to the wise: size up!) just a few weeks ago and they’ve already become favorites. Inspired by the traditional Venetian gondolier’s slipper, the collection includes mules (hello!) and slippers in a range of jewel-tone velvets and satins. Swoon.

THE BEST BRUSSEL SPROUTS EVER // Brussel sprouts are one of my all-time favorite vegetables. You, too? Check out this recipe. It’s super simple and yields deliciously-crisp brussel sprouts. Bonus! It also taught me a neat little trick: pre-heating the baking sheet in the oven is the key to perfectly-caramelized sprouts. Yum!

MY NEW OFFICE RULE // Taking a break from the computer while I was on vacation earlier this month is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I spend way too much time staring at a screen and the seven-day respite was much needed – both physically and mentally. With that in mind, I’m trying to make a few changes here and there that will cut down on my screen time – starting with “time blocking” for email. I’m going to designate specific times each day for checking and responding to emails. I’m going to do my very best to stick to it. The buzz of emails is basically 24-7 and it stresses me out. I think this should help.

A QUESTION FOR YOU // What concealer do you use? For the longest time, I’ve been using this one from Laura Mercier. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s totally fine. However, I’ve been using it for years and haven’t branched out whatsoever. I think it’s time I do. Any recommendations?
