I’ve always considered May to be the “December” of the spring season. It’s the only other month that rivals December when it comes to number of parties. The next few weeks are jam-packed with weddings, birthdays (mine!), graduations, and more. This past weekend was the perfect kick off to what is sure to be a very festive month. It started with an engagement party on Friday night. On Saturday, I attended not one, but two (!) Cinco de Mayo parties, and I finished it off on Sunday with a birthday brunch in my honor. It was a marathon of the best kind.
A party-packed weekend like that calls for a festive and fun frock. My wrap dress from Loup Charmant totally fit the bill. It was the first thing I reached for when I started getting dressed. Bright red always reads party, in my opinion, but the color felt especially appropriate for Cinco de Mayo. The ruffle detailing made it all the more festive. (I definitely felt like I was channeling the dancer emoji when I was wearing it.) This is one of those dresses that can easily work for day or night. A simple accessory switch is all you need to take it from casual to dressy. I consider versatile dresses like this one to be gold in my closet. I’ve honestly thought about it buying this one in a second color. The only question is which one to choose. White is a safe bet but I could go a different route and opt for this inky blue instead. It would be a great option for a summer wedding. Check out all the colors here and tell me your pick.
