We can all name a list of colors we love and some that we really hate, but I bet you didn’t know that there’s a whole lot more to it then mere like and dislike. Color theory says the hues we respond to (or don’t respond to) are actually quite emotional and have a great effect on mood. According to this chart, my favorite colors’ positives are: exciting, attention-getting, fun, whimsical and gregarious, among other things. (The negatives: loud, guady and frivolous.)
Christmastime is special no matter what city you’re in, but everyone knows that that’s extra special in the Big Apple. I love these photographs from Daniel Arnold. The photographer managed to capture the day-to-day happenings and style on the streets of NYC. There’s something so honest and real about these photos. (The one of the woman applying her lipstick on the subway is my favorite.)
T-minus seven days until I’m on a plane to Harbour Island. I’ve got my sights set on the beach and need a well-packed suitcase to get there. I’ve been purchasing some goodies (this and this) from the Tory Burch swim boutique to help me with that.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of the holiday commitments you’ve gotten yourself into, you’re not alone. It seems we all have a little trouble saying the word no. After reading this short article on The Power of No, I’m inspired to include it in my 2015 resolutions.
Well, now it’s serious. The Net-a-Porter sale, that is. Not only have lots of new things been added, but the markdowns are now up to 70% (!) off. Things I’m loving: this hot pink one-shoulder dress, these sandals, and these leather pants. But there’s so much more. Don’t miss it!
