face oilIt seems like everywhere I look, there’s an article about the miracles of face oils. It seems like every model, celebrity, and glowy-skinned person I know is using one. (Did you see the models at Balmain? GLOWING. The makeup artist claims that the Rodin Olio Lusso Face Oil is responsible.) Ever since I started using this one, I’ve grown more and more interested in face oils – and just like any beauty trend that sticks around long enough, I was bound to jump on the bandwagon at some point.

I’ve been doing a little research and here’s what I found out about face oils: they prevent skin damage and breakouts, they’re full of antioxidants,  they’re the best anti-agers, and they’re basically the surest thing to dewy, glowy skin that we all want. I got a facial last week (side note: It was one of the best facials I’ve ever had. I’ll be posting the details later this week.) and the aesthetician did this UV-light thing on my face that actually showed me what my skin looked like deep down, underneath all the layers. You know what I saw? Dehydrated skin – very dehydrated skin. Maybe it’s just this miserably cold weather we’ve been having, but whatever I’m doing isn’t quite cutting it. I need something else – and I’m thinking a face oil might just be the ticket.

I’ve asked friends and browsed my online beauty go-tos (here and here) and these are the three that I’ve heard are the absolute best when it comes to the oils: Rodin Olio Lusso, Kora Rosehip Oil (Mirana Kerr. Enough said.), and Clarins Blue Lotus Oil. I’m going to see if I can snag some samples of these and give the face oil thing a go. Thoughts? Recommendations? Let’s hear ’em!
