FRANCES VALENTINE Mules (*Runs small. Size up.) // AG Jeans

It’s nearly impossible to feel anything but happy when wearing these flats. Each time I slide them on serves as an instant mood-booster. (Nearly every single pair of Frances Valentine shoes tend to have this effect.) They’re festive and just plain fun. They’re the kind of flats that are fancy enough for a party (they look extra cute with these cropped pants), but way too fab to save for special occasions only. Which is why I don’t. I wear them whenever and wherever – running errands, shopping, around the house. Not only do they add a fancy touch to a very casual pair of jeans, but they make even the most mundane tasks (read: my Sunday afternoon trip to the grocery store) feel just a little more special.

Bottom line: happy flats are meant to be worn. Often. I’ve found a bevy of good options that are worth a look. First up: the new powder puff flats from Aquazzura. They come in several colors, including a wear-all-the-time black, but I think I’m actually partial to the moss green. I have a feeling those are going to be my favorite come fall. (The kitten heel version  is also so adorable.) For something a little more bohemian, Figue’s slides are the ticket. Loeffler Randall tassel styles like these (on sale!) and these are good choices as well. Equally as fab and on sale, too, would be any and all of the pairs from Delpozo (these and these) along with this raffia pair from Jimmy Choo. Looking for something under $100? How about these, these or these?
