Here comes the sun! How can you resist this cheerful color this time of year? Yellow is a shade that people often shy away from but it’s surprisingly versatile – not to mention, it’s lends such a happy touch to any look. I used to never wear yellow but after a couple of my yellow dresses became favorites last summer, I started seeking out the color more and more. I think it’s all about choosing the right shade for your skin tone. I tend to favor bright, lemon-yellows (love this and this) over the softer, more pastel shades. I’m already so pale and the lighter yellows only seem to make that all the more obvious. I also really like a golden, mustard color – something like this top, for example. (That particular shade always makes me think of Michelle Williams’ gorgeous gown at the 2006 Oscars.) If yellow truly doesn’t work for you, you can always go the accessory route. This tote ($36 and it’s reversible!) or this pair of ankle-strap sandals would both be good options. Whether you decide to go full-on yellow or just add a touch here and there, it’s hue to embrace this season!
