If there’s an (un)official hue of winter, grey is it. While some may think of grey as a “blah” color, it’s anything but that to me. I consider it my go-with-everything neutral that’s as classic as it is versatile. It’s a color that takes up considerable real estate in my closet (which includes my newest oh-so-good sweater) this time of year. You’ll find it in every form – coats (love this on-sale option), plenty of chunky knits, denim (this pair and this pair), and several pairs of boots. From light heather to charcoal, grey comes in so many different shades, each one equally as good as the next. The best part? They look so good when mixed together. I love a grey-on-grey look more than anything. Example: this knit ($75!) + my favorite crop-flare jeans + this coat. If you’re really going for the monochrome effect, you could even finish the look off with a pair of these flats (aka the most comfortable flats ever) or, in the alternative, these over-the-knee boots. Done and done. It’s an easy palette that allows for endless mixing and matching. It’s basically your go-to outfit formula that’s going to make getting dressed over the next few months a whole lot easier.
