I’m not going to lie: cardigans are normally not my thing. I’m not talking about the casual, boyfriend style cardis (I love those). I’m referring to the button-up, crew-neck style ones. They remind me of twinsets (never) and have always felt just a touch too preppy. However, as of late, I’ve been changing my tune on the button-up knit. With Texas weather being so fickle (it was 32 degrees last Thursday, and today we’re looking at 70 and sunny), the button-up knit is actually a perfect piece. It keeps me warm in the mornings when it’s cool, but it’s lightweight enough to work when temperatures heat up. This cardigan has been an easy piece for me, and it worked underneath blazers and vests for light layering, too. Of course, with my smoking slippers and a striped oxford, it’s definitely got a preppy vibe. The fall season must bring it out in me.
