Don’t you love it when you know that your shopping dollars are going towards something good? That’s how I felt when I purchased this top and shorts. They’re from the Born Free collection, an initiative to end mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The limited-edition collection includes over 50 pieces from 22 leading designers (Marni, Stella McCartney, and Prada to name just a few!) and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the initiative.

I had this matching set in my Shopbop “hearts” folder the minute it popped up in new arrivals, but making the purchase was easier knowing exactly where and to whom my money was going. Both the top (the ruffled sleeves are the best part) and the shorts have become two of my favorite things in my closet this summer. I wear them together (it’s this summer’s version of this look) and separately with other things. The top is a perfect pairing with white jeans and the shorts – which, by the way, are high(ish)-waisted and I love that – are a go-to with everything from my gray t-shirt to my one-shoulder top, if I’m feeling a little dressier.

Did I mention the Born Free collection also includes children’s clothing? The most adorable little things! Believe me: if I had a daughter, I would totally buy this dress for her so we could match.
