It’s no secret that Barneys New York’s roster of designers (from Gucci and The Row to Nili Lotan and Philip Lim) is one of the very best. What might surprise you, however, is that it’s the store’s own private label that’s getting the most clicks on my computer as of late. I’m obsessed with the entire collection and stalk it regularly. I’ve never really given department store in-house labels much attention. Generally, the items you’ll find in those collections are just kind of boring and meh. But that’s definitely not the case with Barneys.
The BNY collection is without a doubt one of my very favorites for pretty much everything. The collection has built itself on the best of basics – think: oversized cashmere sweaters, striped button-down shirts, a wear-forever leopard coat, and classic accessories like carryall totes and over-the-knee boots. It’s essentially the chicest versions of your wardrobe staples. In fact, some of my most-worn sweaters (this one and this one) from this season came from the BNY label. But that’s not all there is. In addition to the best of the basics, you’ll also find a bevy of fun, colorful extras peppered throughout the collection. I’m talking about things like this fur wristlet, these feather sandals (obsessed), and my new baby blue heels – which, like all of the other BNY items, have the quality and look of designer but are a fraction of the price. (Side note: these slides would be so fun for a bride!) Bottom line: it’s a one-stop shop. Bookmark it.
