loeffler randall flats

I certainly love a fab pair of heels, but it’s that flats in my closet that get the most wear. Whether I’m headed to the office to the airport or a cocktail party, I can pretty much make flats work for any and all occasions. Here, 4 types of flats you need in your closet this fall.

For the office… Flats are almost always my shoe of choice for work. If I have an important meeting on the schedule, I’ll just stash a pair of heels in my bag and make the switch when need be. The simple ballet flats are usually the ones that become my weekday workhorses. Think: these, these (Chanel-lookalikes!), or these. I’m also really loving loafer flats for the office right now. They add a touch of sophistication. This tasseled pair is super cute and under $150.

For a party… I’m all about a good party flat. I spend most of my time standing up at parties so having something comfortable on my feet is always a plus. If I’m wearing a statement dress (love this one) then I’ll wear something simple  on my feet. This pair was a splurge but well worth it because I’ve worn them so much. The patent leather makes them a little dressier and the studs adds just the right amount of flair. I also love this bow pair in nude. On the other hands, if I’m wearing an LBD then I’ll opt for a bold pair of shoes. I just ordered this pair (under $150!) in bright red and I’m totally obsessed with this stripe pair.

For traveling… A good pair of flats is absolutely crucial for traveling. While sneakers (I love my Supergas) will totally work, sometimes I need something with just a little more polish. This pair has become a serious favorite. They have a cushioned sole which makes them so comfortable and the scallop adds such a cute detail.

For the weekend… My weekends are usually spent running around, checking things off my to-do list. I need something comfortable that I can stay in all day but also something chic enough to wear to a fun lunch or an early happy hour with friends. The lace-up style is perfect for this kind of thing. I own this pair from Loeffer Randall and wear them all the time. The laces just add that subtle punch to an otherwise simple flat. I also really love the lace-up style in a leopard print. Check out this pair and this pair.
