It’s never just the wedding. Whether you’re engaged for one month or one year, it’s a time filled with so many to-do’s. There are showers, engagement parties, teas with your grandmother, a bachelorette party, a bridesmaids luncheon, and a rehearsal dinner, too. In other words: quite a few little white dresses are needed.

While wearing white to all of these events is, of course, not a mandatory rule (I didn’t), a lot of brides do choose to do so. In my opinion, brides sort of own the color white while they’re engaged, so why not embrace it? Plus: who doesn’t love a little white dress? The good news is that there’s certainly no shortage of options in the LWD department. Whether you’re looking for something casual or a something a bit more dressy, there are plenty of good options.

If you are indeed looking for something more appropriate for daytime parties – luncheons, showers – something like this (I love the pockets!) would be perfect. For a cocktail party or maybe the rehearsal dinner, I adore this Lela Rose dress. It’s such a flattering cut and that hemline is so unique! Speaking of unique, this Issa dress is the perfect not-quite-white dress – and so flattering, too! I also really love this Halston Heritage dress. The metallic belt addition is key. This fit-and-flare dress is a great under $150 choice.

Something with lace? I love this, this, and this. Bachelorette party? How about something sassy like this ($45) or this? For the beach-bride, this Sea dress is adorable. Or perhaps a little Lilly? Like I said, the options are all there and they’re all good. Scroll through the lookbook above for 20 of my favorites. No matter what you’ve got on your wedding (or non-wedding) agenda, there’s a perfect LWD out there for you.
