Wedding season is officially upon us! As invitations begin to flood mailboxes, the need for chic ensembles is of utmost importance.

When deciding what to wear, the first thing I consider is what kind of wedding it is. If it’s a black-tie affair then I’m going to opt for something on fancier side like this floor-length floral number or this hot pink silk dress from Galvan. However, if it’s a garden party then I can get away with a floral tea-length number like this one or this one. Another factor that plays a huge factor in my dress decision is location. If headed to a wedding on Harbour Island, for example, I’m definitely forgoing heels in favor of dressy sandals (these would work) and my dress is going to be something breezy and colorful – think: this ($100!), this, this, or this. There’s only one rule (in addition to the obvious “no white,” of course!) for me when it comes to spring (and summer) nuptials: no black. Weddings are meant to be fun and festive – especially this time of year! – and I like for my look to be exactly that, too.
