Daylight savings always makes me feel like spring is nearly here. Whenever the clocks “spring” forward, my brain does, too. The official start to spring may not be until later this month, but I’ve already started to make the mental switch over to the new season. Evidence of this switch can be seen in my closet. My coats and heavy knits are moving to the back and in its place, all the light, bright spring things (this!) I’ll be wearing over the next few months. One “thing” you’ll definitely see hanging in there is a fair share of one-shoulder tops. This style has always been one of my favorites. They’re versatile enough to wear everyday, but the neckline adds an unexpected detail, making the top one that you can easily dress up for cocktails. (For the latter, I love the way the style pairs with a matching skirt for a party look. Use this for inspiration.) There’s also something decidedly romantic about a one-shoulder style, making them a go-to of mine for date nights.
Needless to say, this kind of versatility makes this a style that’s always heavy in rotation. I love all of the various options out there right now. There’s tons of variety. There’s great shirting styles like this one from VB. It’s a perfect sub for my usual button-down. On that same note, I’m also eyeing this short sleeve option and this under-$100 stripe style. (For a really good steal, check out this one for $65. The ruffles add a romantic detail!) On the opposite of the spectrum, there’s plenty of colorful prints, too. I love my new floral one from Amanda Uprichard, and, of course, this navy blue one from Ulla Johnson is a favorite of mine too. Looking for something that makes more of a statement? Check out this one (the bow!), this one, this one, this one, or this one. Any of those styles are perfect for a night on the town this spring.
