I’m not sure I’ve ever done a post on my own beauty routine before, but I’m so in love with this product that today’s the day I’m changing that. First of all, here’s what you need to know: I have the world’s most sensitive skin. Seriously. The majority of the products I’ve tried on my face have caused breakouts and/or allergic reactions. (I’m even allergic to Neosporin. Just to put this into perspective for you!) In addition to all of that, I have a mild case of rosacea that pops up every now and then. In order to keep my skin happy (and redness/bump free), I stick to a regimen of super simple products: Purpose cleanser, Squalene oil as a moisturizer, a teeny-tiny dab of Retin-A (for the redness), and a daily sunscreen. The sunscreen was the most difficult product to nail down. Every single facial sunscreen I tried seemed to cause breakouts – not to mention felt heavy on skin. My dermatologist recommended EltaMD UV Clear, and, although I was wary to try anything new, I decided to give it a shot. It’s a miracle product. If a sunscreen can change your life then EltaMD did that for me. It’s incredibly light and feels so good on my skin (I actually look forward to putting it on every morning). It calms my skin and it has never caused a breakout – not once! And, of course, it keeps my skin protected from the sun. If you have sensitive skin and you’re looking for a good SPF, I highly recommend this!

I realize this post might sound like a commercial for EltaMD and that it might not be for everyone; but this blog is about letting you all in on the things I love and this certainly qualifies!

  1. I love this product too! I have very similar skin and Dr. Wallace at North Dallas Derm told me that this was the best- she was right! It is so so light- Ill never use anything else!

  2. I have been using this product for about a year, and I love it too! It is fantastic. I don’t feel bad about putting it on my 11 year old daughter’s face, either, because I know it won’t clog her pores like I am afraid some of the other sunscreens will do!

  3. Wow- I’ve been looking for a sunscreen like this forever. I use gel de la mer and it doesn’t have an SPF, and any that I try to add on top of that tends to break my skin out.

  4. Wow great to know! I have similar skin and have been looking for a sunscreen! You should also look into a product called Nerium. It’s an anti-aging product that I absolutely love. I love it so much that I became a distributor! It’s all-natural and perfect for extremely sensitive skin. Check out my website to see how to order :)

  5. what squalene oil do you recommend? trying to find it online. love these tips. i have sensitive skin and also love skin-ceuticals’s great!
