DIVE RIGHT IN

The fact that all the kiddos around town have been on spring break (remember that blissful week?) has me dreaming about beachy days and plenty of pool time. So, I’m getting through it by shopping around for some new suits. I do, in fact, have my own “spring break” planned for May when we’ll be headed to Mexico to soak up some sun – and margs, too. Why not get prepped for the trip early? I can pretty much find everything I need right here – namely, my very favorite Seafolly bikini (I have it in multiple colors),a pair of gladiator sandals, a stripe maxi dress ($54!), and this adorable coverup. While I usually take the easy route and stick to my all-white beach attire (things like this and this), Mexico calls for color – and plenty of it. With that in mind, I’m also thinking about picking up something like this or – better yet –  this fab one-piece from Trina Turk. I love that print. (While I’m at it, this ocean-blue bikini isn’t a bad idea either – especially when the price tag is $36.)

Another thing I can’t leave home without: my “Squishee” hat. (Yes. That’s actually the proper name for it.) If you all don’t know about this hat, you should. I’m insistent upon wearing a hat when I’m in the sun but they are the absolute worst to pack. They take up so much room in a suitcase and no matter what I do, they always end up completely deformed by the time I unpack my bag. Not this hat. It looks just like a straw hat but its “squishee” material means you don’t have to think twice about it folding up and throwing it in your suitcase. A must-have, really.

Finally, what to tote all my goodies to and from the beach? Well, the most perfect beach bag of all: this one. And with that, I think I’m sun-and-sand ready.

wait there's more
