SUMMER READING VIA TORY BURCH

Can you believe that it’s already the last week of July? Where did the summer go? It’s been quite some time since I posted my summer reading list, so here’s a little update on where I am with that. So far, I have finished: Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and The Help. (They’re all really great reads, by the way. The Help was definitely my favorite so far, and I can’t wait to see the movie next month!) I’ve diverted a bit from the original list, and I am currently reading The Island by Elin Hilderbrand. Have any of you all read it? I’m only about 100 pages in but I like it so far. It seems like an easy, entertaining summer read. I have a feeling that this little list might turn into more of a “summer/fall” list as I really don’t think I’ll have all of these checked off by the end of August. Especially after browsing the summer reading list on the Tory Burch blog today. There are so many great books mentioned that I want to read now! If you’re looking to get started on a new book but aren’t sure where to start, be sure to check out this list, which includes book favorites from over 25 “tastemakers,” including Allegra Hicks, Narciso Rodriguez, Hanneli Mustaparta, and Anna Dello Russo.

Any status updates on your summer reading? Have you read anything that I just must add to my list? I would love to hear!

  1. I just received that CoCo Chanel book as a gift from a reader of my newspaper who read my piece on the history of the fashion house … I'm really excited to get started on it as soon as I finish the Thornbirds!!

  2. I just finished “Dances With Dragons” that I have shamelessly been waiting for 6 years. Amazing. If you have not read the Fire and Ice Series it's great though I have heard good things about HBO's Game of Thrones I love reading better than a movie. There is something liberating about imagining your own characters instead of having them handed to you.

I am just about to start on the Memory Palace. Not really a beachy summer read but seems haunting nonetheless.

And I really want to read BossyPants because I keep hearing good things about it.

    So far thats my list!

  3. I just finished reading Cleopatra's Daughter, which is great. I also read The Lost Girls last summer, which is a perfect true summer read of 3 twentysomethings who decide to travel the world together. Like Eat, Pray, Love, without the angst.

  5. Thank for all of these suggestions! This is so helpful!

Let me know how Memory Palace is! and I will definitely put The Lost Girls on my “to read” list!
