The second I spotted this neon zebra on Instagram, I knew I had to have it. I tracked it down to artist Nicole Leigh Smith, and I’ve been smitten with her work ever since. I was thrilled when Nicole agreed to be a part of Style Notes. She’s certainly someone you all need to know about. The Florida and California-based artist is known for her still life paintings of animals and various objects such as candy, jewelry, and even nail polish. I love how her paintings really have a texture to them – not to mention, such unique color combinations! Nicole’s confection paintings look good enough to eat! One thing’s for sure: Nicole loves color (a girl after my own heart). Her Instagram name is “Neon_” after all.
