SANDALS THAT ARE WORTH THE SPLURGE

ANCIENT GREEK Sandals // 7 FOR ALL MANKIND Jeans

We’re slowly inching our way closer to sandal season. That means it’s time to take stock – pull out the old favorites and determine which pair (or two!) you might want to cross off your wish list. If you’re going to be doing the latter, here’s a tip: you should most definitely consider this pair from Ancient Greek. I bought my first pair last summer and fell so in love that I’ve since purchased the style in two additional colors. (The silver pair is my favorite because they work as both a casual and fancy sandal.) The braided design is simple, but chic and, after walking in them for hours on Italy’s cobblestone streets, I can attest that they’re both durable and incredibly comfortable. Win-win.

That’s pretty much how I would describe any pair of Ancient Greek’s sandals. I’ve managed to collect quite a few (I have these in two colors) over the years and each one has been just as good as the last. From their basic slingbacks to their newest metallic slides (love the rose gold!), every style is so beautifully designed. They’re understated enough for everyday wear, but still maintain a certain specialness that makes them suitable for dressy occasions, too. (Think: these with this breezy little black dress.) Their shining-star quality is just how comfortable they are. By “comfortable,” I mean no blisters and, even after a day spent walking on hard surfaces, they never make the soles of my feet ache in the way that other flat sandals can. Bonus! Even after years of my wear and tear, they seem to only get better with time. Bottom line: these sandals are worth the splurge.
