The one thing that has dramatically changed about me in the past year is that I now cook. As someone that relied on take-out for nearly ever meal and used her oven as magazine storage (I’m not kidding), this new hobby of mine is a big transformation. It’s not just that I cook, it’s that I really, really enjoy doing it. It’s become something I look forward to rather than as a chore or obligation.
This new found love of cooking has also brought on an interest in cookbooks. I find myself purchasing cookbooks (this one is getting 2014 off to a very healthy start) almost as often as I do my beloved coffee table books. Of course, it helps if the cookbook is as beautiful as a coffee table tome. And Model Kitchen is. With gorgeous photography by Kai Z Feng, this glossy cookbook is just as worthy of a spot in the living room as it is in the kitchen. I received it as a Christmas gift from one of my good friends and it’s quickly become my new favorite. Authored by model Cesar Casier, the paperback book contains 75 “clean living” recipes submitted by models. Not just any models, either. We’re talking Karlie Kloss, Lindsay Wixson, Lily Donaldson, and other tippity-top models. It’s an all-star list with all-star recipes. Each recipe is healthy, but absolutely delicious and filling. And easy-to-make, too! The baked salmon is one of my very favorites as is the roast chicken with quinoa. I’m dying to try his banana bread recipe next. Let’s be honest: aren’t you just a little interested in what these models eat to look so good?
