Club Monaco Blouse // Club Monaco Skirt // Chanel Ballet Flats // Michael Kors Watch // Céline Handbag // Ray-Ban Sunglasses

As September slowly makes its way here (hurry up, fall weather!), I’ve been pulling out some of my favorite pieces to make the transition into fall. Besides a few minor exceptions (little white dresses, white denim cutoff shorts), I really try to make a lot of my wardrobe work year-round. By simply adding or subtracting a few layers here and there, you can really make most anything work for cool or warm weather.  For instance, this Club Monaco ensemble (I’m obsessed with that store right now) will make a seamless transition into the new season by simply adding a pair of tights and a blazer (like this one). And, of course, each piece will work on its own in many an outfit. (On another note, how adorable is this silk shirt? I’m not sure if you can tell in the pictures but it has an astrological sign print on it. It’s a nice break from all of my solid colored silk blouses.) How are you making the transition into fall? Any key pieces you’re holding onto?

  1. Love this! Working your wardrobe year round but always looking reinvented is key, not to mention amazingly great fun. Thanks Bradley….can’t wait for fall!

  2. During the heat of the summer, I pull all my super bright tanks, dresses, and jewlery out and wear with whites to maximum effect. I’ve found myself over the past few weeks pulling tanks and t’s in creams, browns, and navys out more often and wearing with denim or grays. It’s nice to have a transition wardrobe, otherwise you’d go from magenta to burgundy overnight= fashion indigestion! :)

  3. I love that skirt! Guess I need to make a stop by Club Monaco! September is all about layering – I basically carry a cardigan or my denim jacket around everywhere!

  4. I recently got the same shirt and am in love with it! You styled it so lovely with the 2 different patterns in the shirt and the skirt. Club Monaco has a great fall collection. I definitely need to go back to pick up some more pieces!!!

  5. Somehow I have never found your blog, but thanks to A Piece of Toast that has been rectified! Phew!! You’ve got a wonderful space here – and I totally adore your blouse. Is that a weird thing to say? Maybe. But I do!
