J. Crew Fall 2010 Preview

I know we’re excited that spring is finally here and the last thing we want to think about are the coats and sweaters we just stored far, far away in our closets, but I have to take a moment to mention J.Crew’s fabulous Fall 2010 collection. The collection, shown in a private presentation last Friday, was full of gotta-have-it-right-now looks. Jenna Lyons, J.Crew’s Creative Director, cited her inspiration as “Edie Beal goes to Girl Scout Camp” (Edie Beal is the eccentric woman behind Grey Gardens). In other words, Lyons basically reinterpreted the military look we have been seeing so much of lately and put a more feminine (this is where the “girl scout” comes into play) spin on the collection. The collection focused on some great outerwear options, including shearling vests and tweed blazers. The accessories in this collection aren’t to be missed either! Hats, necklaces, brooches and textured tights (love these) were perfect additions to the effortless looks.

Favorite look? The frilly white skirt perfectly cinched with a distressed leather belt and paired with the military jacket. What’s yours?
