TGIF. How was everyone’s first week of December? It’s hard to believe that we’re already a week in to this month. The weeks are flying by faster and faster. I’m not complaining though because the quicker we reach the end of this month, the quicker my beach vacay will be here (Harbour Island, here I come!). In the meantime, however, I’m enjoying the all the festivities around town. If you’re in Dallas, I hope you’ve made a stop by Highland Park Village to see the all of the gorgeous lights. It really is like a winter wonderland there. I’m not going to lie though. It’s been a little disorienting seeing Christmas trees go up and listening to holiday tunes when it’s 80 degrees outside. Come Monday, this is all supposed to change. According to the weather channel, a cold front is on its way. They’re saying we might even see a few flurries…? I can’t wait. Drinking hot chocolate is a lot more fun when it’s below 60 degrees. Happy Weekend!
For your weekend perusal:
- The eye of the editor: If you’re like me and loved The September Issue, then you need to check out this trailer for the new HBO Documentary, In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye. It premiered last night. This sounds like a good reason to go ahead and order HBO.
- Swim to it: While thinking about my trip to Harbour Island, it occurred to me that it’s been quite a long time since I purchased a new swimsuit. (Anyone else do this as well?) It’s time for a new bikini or two. J.Crew just got a new shipment of seriously adorable swimwear. This scalloped number is already in my cart. (P.S. How much does the model look like a young Eva Mendes?)
- Seeing green: Have you heard the news? Pantone has named emerald as its 2013’s color of the year. As a May baby, emerald has always been my favorite of the gems, and colors, too. Seems like a good reason to add this to my closet. Or these oh-so-beachy jeans.
- A note from Anna: Haven’t you always wanted to take a peek at Anna Wintour’s handwriting – and most importantly, her stationery? Take a look here. The EIC opts for Cartier when putting pen to paper.
