When it comes to my home, I’ve always gravitated towards bright whites accented by pops of color. Or somewhere in the middle with a light gray paint (my living room), but I’ve never gone any farther than that. Lately, however, I’ve fallen in love with these dark walls I’ve been seeing everywhere. When I moved into my new apartment a few months ago, I actually experimented with a black paint in the powder room. It’s a such a small space, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong (baby steps). I’ve loved it so much that I think I’m ready do this color in a much bigger way. I really like the idea of using it in a library/study like Aerin Lauder. The black paint adds instant warmth to this room making it feel comfortable and inviting. Can’t you see yourself curling up in here with a good book? I also adore Miles Redd’s kitchen. The black lacquered cabinetry makes the kitchen looks so glamourous. What do you think?

I never gravitate to dark but wow this is making me rethink!
Love that dining room!!
While I'm not sure I'll ever take the plunge, I really do love dark walls. They're so moody and glamorous!
Ohh I love dark, sexy rooms. They add such drama to a space. I'm definitely a fan!
The idea of dark walls is both intriguing and intimidating! Definitely gives a space such a different and unique feel.

I must admit, I love a dark, mysterious room. Black is the ultimate chic color. Love this post!

I actually really love dark rooms! They seem so sophisticated and remind me of an old school library! I love the room with all the books and the pop of pink in the flowers and chairs!

I gravitate towards whites and colors too. My husband would love black though. These pictures might be shifting my thoughts!
Beautiful spaces! I love how the black can create such a warm space without being too dark and heavy.
