Reese Witherspoon got it right when she said, “If it’s not moving, monogram it.” There’s something truly special about having your name or initials engraved on an item – and it feels extra special when someone goes to the trouble to do it for you. When I’m trying to come up with a unique gift, I always consider a monogram. Not only does it show forethought, but the customized detail can turn even the most ordinary gift (towels, for instance) into something really unique.

Here, a few of my favorites…

One of my very first gifting go-to’s is linens. Whether for a hostess or housewarming gift (or just a friend who gets a thrill from seeing her initials embroidered), a beautiful set of personalized linens is always a hit. Mark & Graham has an amazing selection of both cocktail and dinner napkins in a variety of different styles and colors. I also love this classic option from Tuckernuck ($60).

For my friends that are always on-the-go, a monogrammed canvas tote is the perfect present. It’s something they’ll likely use everyday. The same goes for this card case. It’s the perfect size and the color options are great.

For the men: this catch-all is perfect. My husband keeps it in his closet and uses it for loose change and cufflinks. I also love the engraved belt buckle.

If it’s jewelry you’re after, check out this section at Bauble Bar. They have some great personalized pieces (love this signet ring) for even better prices. For a splurge, Jennifer Meyer’s jewels can’t be beat. Her diamond initial bracelet has always been one of my favorites.

And if it’s really a splurge you’re going for, the bespoke clutch from Edie Parker is the ticket. It’s oh-so-fun. What girl doesn’t enjoy seeing her name in glitter?
