GET THE LOOK: A FIESTA BAR CART

fiesta bar

FURBISH BAR CART (similar options here, here and here) // TRINA TURK ICE BUCKET // MARARCAS // LETTERMADE COCKTAIL NAPKINS (love this set, too!) ANTHROPOLOGIE GLASSWARE (similar here) // PIÑATAS // MINI-SOMBRERO HAT // TOPO CHICO MINERAL WATER // ELLIS HILL CUSTOM SWIZZLE STICKS //  SPRITZ STRAWS

Just as there are certain “staples” (the perfect white tee, a black leather jacket…) in a closet, there are also pieces that I consider to be furniture essentials – and a bar cart is one of them. I might not have thought this way a couple of years ago but after having one of own – and using it all the time – I am convinced that a good bar cart should be on everyone’s list of must-haves for their home. Not only are they totally functional (who doesn’t love a piece of furniture on wheels?), but they create an instant party wherever you put them. I tend to use mine (check out this one and this one for similar acrylic options) as a center piece at my parties, “re-decorating” it according to theme or style. (This is what it looked like at my last dinner party.)

In this case, the party bar took on the fiesta look. Accessories are key (speaking of which, this and a set of these would have been perfect). All it needed was a heavy dose of color (these orange glasses are perfect for that) and a few Mexican-inspired touches – mini-piñatas, Topo Chicos – to transform it into a fun fiesta party piece. The final touch? Margaritas, of course.
