Getting party-ready when it’s this cold outside can be a struggle. All I want to do is bundle up in my thickest knit, throw on a parka, and call it a day. But ’tis the season for festive dressing! To add a holiday touch to a look, I rely on those extra details – bright colors, layers, texture. Things like feathers. They’re decidedly festive and add a merry touch to even the most basic item (this Tibi tank, for example). Not to mention, they’re just plain fun. (See: this skirt.) With this Elizabeth & James sweater, I get the best of both worlds: it’s a party top that keeps me warm. Adding a peplum-like detail, the feathers give this cozy (read: so, so soft) winter-white knit the holiday detail it needs. I can easily throw this on with jeans and a pair of red flats ($60!) or for something a little dressier, a black leather pencil skirt would do the trick. (I also love the idea of pairing it with my leggings and going for a total winter-white look, too!) In other words, I’ll be wearing this one to many a holiday party – and long after that!
