As much as I love a hot pink or an Yves Klein blue, I’m also someone that favors colors of the more neutral variety: creamy whites, beiges, nudes, and blush tones with just the slightest hint of pink. These colors look fresh, and along with black and gray, these are usually the hues I find myself wearing the most often. The neutral-tones items in my closet are often the ones with most longevity. For instance, a leather jacket like this one will never ever go out of style. (During the summer, I’ve favored this Elizabeth & James jacket. It’s the perfect weight for these hot temperatures.) Another must-have in neutrals: knitwear. I own this J.Crew cashmere tee in a million colors but the tan, light blush and gray are the ones that get the most wear. And no fall/winter wardrobe would be complete without a camel coat. This one looks downright cozy, but I also love the tailored silhouette (and the lower price tag) of this double-breasted one. One of the things I especially love about this palette is how it looks when layered together. There’s nothing prettier than white jeans with a creamy blouse and a tan jacket on top. It’s a palette cleanser, don’t you think?
