YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: DESIGN DARLING (THE BOUTIQUE)

I’m so excited to bring you a sneak peek of what’s sure to be your latest online shop favorite! Launching tomorrow, Design Darling: The Boutique is the brainchild of the Mackenzie Horan (the “Design Darling” herself). I’ve been a longtime fan of Mackenzie’s blog. It’s a go-to source of mine for interior design and style inspiration, and I can only imagine that her shop will be just as fabulous. Design Darling will offer a well-edited assortment of accessories and home decor items – think baubles, matches, lacquer trays and more! And, of course, there will be no shortage of color (how about those hot pink matches?). In other words, this will be a one-stop shop for all sorts of fantastic goodies you won’t want to miss! Here’s a quick peek at a few of items that will be in the shop. Check out Design Darling when it launches bright and early tomorrow morning, and in the meantime, you can join the mailing list right here!

YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: COZAMIA

Bright and bold defines the artwork of COZAMIA’S Nancy Ramirez. Her dynamic use of shapes and colors gives her mixed-media prints depth and interest. I also love how soothing and optimistic her color palettes are. Not to mention, the prices really can’t be beat! One of these unique pieces is soon to be on my home wish list! Be sure to check out her blog where you’ll discover the inspiration behind her work. Any favorites?

YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: ORNAMENTAL HABIT

How much do you love that pink chimney? I took one look at that image and I knew I needed to see more. Lucky for me, the former owner of that pink chimney happens to be a friend of mine, Avery Cox. I e-mailed her immediately asking her to send me images so I could share them with you all. Not only is Avery an incredibly talented interior designer, but she’s also got a blog that you’ll want to add to your bookmarks! This lady is über-creative and has an amazing eye for color (she’s the daughter of one of my favorite artists, after all). Aren’t these photos dreamy? I love the peek of her clothing along the side wall of her bedroom (Avery described her teeny apartment as a “walk-in closet”). Take a peek at these photos and then head over to her blog Ornamental Habit to get a daily dose of inspiration.

PASSPORT: WHISTLER

Bradley may be headed to the beach next week, but I’ve got my mind on cooler temperatures. There’s nothing like spending the holidays skiing followed by hot toddys by the fire. Here’s a round up of a few things that will keep you chic while you’re there!

COCOA & HEARTS PAINTINGS ARE UP

It’s been a slow process trying to get moved into my new place, but I’m finally starting to feel settled. It’s always the little things that make it really start to feel like home, and having my art hung is one of those little things! Thought I would share with you a quick glimpse into the new Cocoa & Hearts paintings in my room. (Better pictures to come later!) These color block lovelies were painted by Jen Ramos, the fab blogger behind MadebyGirl. I was hunting for new pieces for my bedroom, and the ladies behind Pulp Design Studios led me to Jen. The inspiration behind the paintings came from the colorful blanket that lays at the end of my bed. I think it turned out just perfect. If you haven’t already, you should check out the Cocoa & Hearts gallery right here!

WISHLIST: ALEXANDRA VON FURSTENBERG’s FEARLESS COLLECTION

I think you all know by now that I have a serious weakness for anything lucite. Take this combined with my affection for color (especially neon) and you’ve summed up Alexandra Von Furstenberg’s Fearless furniture line. The gem-like collection – which includes everything from coffee tables to accent pieces – is comprised of light reflecting acrylic with bold, neon-colored edges. It almost appears as if a neon light is shining through the piece. All of the colors are so spectacular (any favorites?)! Most of the furniture pieces are made to order, so you can customize the pieces in any color and size your heart desires. The accessories are really my favorite – especially these picture frames. Any 4×6 would look better with a little neon behind it, right?

*If you’re in Dallas, you can check out the accessories at Madison in Highland Park Village.
