BEAUTY BUZZ: TATA HARPER

5N2A4734

So here’s my thing with facials: while I love the experience and (almost) always love the after-effect on my skin, but I rarely buy the products the aestheticians use on me. I always get the feeling that they’re simply trying to sell a product. Anyone else know what I’m talking about here?  I’ve also never had a facial that was so mind-blowing that I wanted to leave with the goods. Except for the Tata Harper one I had at Blackberry Farm. This facial was unlike any I have ever experienced. I noticed a difference in my skin immediately: my skin was glowing, there was no irritation and rather than having the redness (I can thank rosacea for that) that I normally experience post-facial, my skin looked incredibly clear. My cheeks even had a natural, rosy hue that lasted through that night’s dinner and into the next morning. Needless to say, I was back in that spa the following day, learning everything I could about this line. And purchasing a few products to take home with me.

There are so many things that make Tata Harper different from other skincare lines. Most notable is that it’s 100% natural and nontoxic. Many of the ingredients (things like rose extract and jasmine) used in her products are ones she gets from her farm in Vermont. I’m not going to lie: this is actually what made me somewhat skeptical at first. I’ve always had this crazy notion that these types of all-natural products aren’t as effective, that they don’t get the job done. Tata Harper has proved me wrong. These products not only feel amazing on my skin, but they work wonders as well.

I’ve loved the Resurfacing Mask (see my post about it here) for quite some time but lately I’ve been testing out some other products from the line. Here, my four new favorites:

1. The Nourishing Oil Cleanser: I’ve never been one to slather oil all over my face in lieu of a good, foamy scrub. This winter, however, has done a number on my skin and the cleansers I was using seem to only be making things drier. Switching to this silky cleanser has helped dramatically. Best part? My skin doesn’t feel the slightest bit oily after I use it. During the summer when the oil is too much for my skin, I’ll use it as a makeup remover. Who doesn’t love a two-in-one?

2. Beautifying Face Oil: Speaking of oil, this is another one I’ve fallen in love with. It’s lightweight and absorbs remarkably fast. I’ve been using it in my place of my usual moisturizer at night. Just two drops! A little goes a long way here. I love the way it feels going onto my skin.

3. Rejuvenating Serum: I’m a big believer in the powers of a good anti-aging product and while I only recently started dabbling with this one, I think it’s a winner. There are seven anti-aging products in this powerful little serum. One of them happens to be Hyaluronic Acid, which I think is a miracle worker. Wrinkles, be gone!

4. Moisturizing Mask: While I love the Resurfacing Mask, the winter weather required a switch to this one. This mask has completely turned my dry skin around. After I’ve cleansed my skin, I apply a small amount all over my face. Just a thin layer. It feels a little oily at first but you’ll notice that it starts to soak in immediately. You can wash it off whenever but I actually leave it on overnight. It’s become my Sunday night ritual (though it’s so gentle you could use it every night of the week). I awake to silky-smooth skin on Monday morning.

And for the best part: Tata Harper has been kind enough to offer an exclusive discount for Luella & June readers. Just enter the code LUELLA and you’ll receive 10% off your purchase. The code is valid until March 21st.
