I’m admittedly a little behind this one (it’s already time for Paris!). Nevertheless, here are a few of my favorite looks from the streets of London Fashion Week. One note: I have been seeing white pumps everywhere. Between the editors (Miroslava Duma!) and the other showgoers, the white heel is all over the place. I think it looks so fresh. What about you?

I had a great post planned for today’s Wedding Wednesday feature, but this week has become a little busier than I had planned and I just couldn’t finish it in time – next week, I promise! In any event, I came across this picture of Raquel Welch on her wedding day. This was Raquel’s second marriage to Hollywood producer Patrick Curtis. I love this image. The crochet mini-dress is fab – it’s a sexy little number, but quite fitting for her, don’t you think? And that white fur coat! So good.

You know how much I love these – and I think you do, too! Shopbop’s pre-spring sale kicks off today, and shoppers can receive up to $300 off any purchase. All you have to do is enter the code SPRINGEVENT at checkout. This is a sign it’s time for me to finally pick up this little number from Camilla and Marc, don’t you think? Happy shopping!

I’m not exactly crazy for the floral print trend. At first, I was all about it, but, as it goes with most trends, I have begun to grow tired of it. So it was a little surprising when I walked out of Free People the other day with this floral blouse. I spotted it in the window while walking through the mall and it actually reminded me of this look (a lá Taylor Tomasi Hill). Needless to say, it’s quickly become one of my favorite tops in my closet. It’s super soft, and the blue print lends itself to many an outfit. It’s easiest when paired with blue jeans, of course, but I’ve also been wearing it with a leather pencil skirt (like this one) for a more polished look.

TGIF. What’s everyone up to this weekend? I’ve got a very exciting weekend ahead of me. After two and a half years of doing the long-distance thing, my fiancé is moving to Dallas today. I can hardly believe it. I was so excited last night, I could barely sleep. Needless to say, this weekend I’ll be helping him get unpacked and settled. It’s one more thing that makes the wedding seem all the more near. Of course, Sunday I’ll be glued to the TV in anticipation of the Oscars. Anyone else? I hate to say it but I haven’t seen a lot of the films that are nominated. I usually make a point to see at least all of the ones that are nominated for Best Movie, but this year it just didn’t happen. So, I’m not really qualified to make any predictions there. I can’t wait to see all the action on the red carpet. I have a feeling Jessica Chastain is going to knock it out of the park there. We’ll see. Happy weekend!
For your weekend perusal:
- Downton depressed: Is anyone else still reeling from Sunday’s Downton Abbey finale? For those who haven’t watched it, I don’t want to spoil anything. All I’ll say is that I had no idea that was going to happen. I turned off my TV feeling really depressed. It almost makes me not want to watch the show anymore (of course, you know I will). If you’re still looking for answers, check out this article.
- Honeymoon packable: This cover up from Tory Burch has always been a favorite of mine. The color, the embroidery – it’s just an easy piece. With my honeymoon just a few months away, I think now is the time to add it my cart.
- Gilt City Dallas: If you’re in Dallas this weekend and looking for a deal, be sure to purchase your tickets for the Gilt City Dallas Warehouse Sale. You’ll find everything from clothing to shoes to home accessories – all up to 90% off.
- In the clear: Are we tired of seeing this lamp yet? I hope not. My old roommate used to have one of these in her bedroom and I loved it. I’m kind of thinking about purchasing one for myself. Thoughts?
- For your Oscar party: Is anyone hosting an Oscar party this Sunday? If you are, I’m jealous. I’ve always wanted to have one. (I’ll be up at the FD office with the team reporting on the red carpet.) Every party needs Oscar ballots. Check out these adorable DIY ones. I might just make one for myself.

One of the best parts about being engaged is getting to celebrate with your friends and family. This past Saturday, I got to do just that. My friend Lauren and her mom were sweet enough to throw a wedding a shower for me. It was too. much. fun. The afternoon was full of all of my favorite things. The shower was held at my favorite lunch spot in Dallas, Forty Five Ten’s T Room, and the tables were decorated with stripes (you know how much I love those!) and pink peonies, my bloom of choice. We sipped champagne and munched on “Brian’s Bowl” salads followed by – are you ready for this? – M&M milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies. How can you beat that? There’s nothing I like more than a Dairy Queen M&M blizzard and I couldn’t believe it when they brought me a pink (they used Valentine’s M&M’s…how clever!) version of just that.
One of my favorite parts was the adorable MASH games that were placed on each table. Everyone played a mini-MASH game that was personalized to my fiancé and me. (On another note: It was hilarious to watch the grown-ups attempt MASH. They had not a clue what was going on. I feel like I played it all the time as a kid. It must just be a thing of my generation.) This day will certainly go down as one of the best yet. I’m so glad I brought along my camera (and thanks so much to Molly for taking over photography duty here) so I’m able to share some of these fun moments with you.
My little sister! Isn’t she cute?
My mom’s sparkly J.Crew pants. I’m going to need to borrow these.
The sale of all sales is here – and this time it’s for good! (To be honest, it’s been here for a couple of weeks now so this post is a bit tardy. Better late than never, right?) What was once a bi-annual in-store only sale, Barneys Warehouse is now available to us 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The e-commerce site has all sorts of designer goodies – Philip Lim, Marni, Manolo Blahnik, they’re all here! – at prices up to 75% off. Remember my favorite Rag & Bone blazer? Yep. 60% off. I’m contemplating this adorable Thakoon blouse – perfect with white jeans, no?There’s even a Home section where you can score chic decor finds (hostess gifts, perhaps?) like this Nason Moretti glass bowl. The shopping starts here.
Remember Molly’s Style Notes that I posted last month? Today, you get to meet her equally adorable sister Sally. The other half to A Piece of Toast, Sally is also an assistant teacher and a nanny (they call her the “baby whisperer”). What a busy lady! She spends all day with children – that’s patience right there – and then manages to find time to write a blog. She’s one of the sweetest girls I know and has this amazingly calming presence about her (another reason she makes a wonderful teacher). You’d think that with so much going on in her life that she’d be crazy stressed out, but somehow she keeps it all together – and look super cute doing it!
I had so much fun reading her answers to these. I was curious to see what similarities to Molly’s would pop up (as they tend to do between sisters who live together and edit a blog together). For instance: they both dream about living in San Francisco and they both claim Neulash as their tried and true beauty secret (you would too if you saw their long lashes!). The rest of the answers were very clearly Sally. She’s got her own unique style – one that I ogle over every time I see her. It’s really this mix of similarities and differences between the two girls that makes A Piece of Toast so good. Check it out to see for yourself!
